The Next Generation.

Today i was spending some time in prayer about training leaders to Plant Churches worldwide. My prayer is that the next generation of leaders will have a vision to train leaders to plant churches worldwide. Many people within my generation have a heart for evangelism and seeing that the gospel is preached among the nations. I am an evangelist at heart and that is why working with DCPI has been an eye opener for me.

I long to see lost souls saved for the gospel of Jesus Christ! The best way to see this happen is to train national leaders how to plant churches in their own "neighborhood". I have been able to witness the impact that it makes when a national leader is fully equipped to go into their communities and plant churches and train others to do the same. It just keeps multiplying and continuing long after missionaries leave. On our website, www.dcpi.org, you can witness this happening in Kenya. It gets me excited just talking about how much the Lord is doing!

My heart is that more of my generation will see the need to provide biblical training to leaders worldwide. My prayer is that our generation will see the spread of the Gospel excelling right before our eyes, and that our vision at DCPI for Five Million churches to be planted worldwide, will become a reality. with Jesus Christ as our Lord it is within our reach, for our God is able to do more than we can think or imagine! Jesus, King of Kings, May you expand our hearts and our vision! Amen!

New Opportunities at DCPI

This month has been exciting for me at the office. I have now began taking over the volunteer ministry at DCPI. It is so encouraging for me to be in contact and get to know those who have a heart to volunteer their time to our ministry. It has also brought new life into our office to see smiling faces serving and blessing our staff as they volunteer.
I am also excited to have the opportunity to help train leaders in church planting essentials this Sunday April 17th in Orange County for my first time since I was trained last April. It feels wonderful to be helping with my first training as a certified trainer. Please pray that the training would be a great resource for leaders and that they would be empowered to go out and plant churches and change lives for Christ!

Personal Life update/ Encouragement!

I sat at my office early this month and listened to the birds chirping outside. It was so beautiful. They sang as if they had not a worry in the world. It reminded me of the verse in Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them.” This verse has reminded me at many points in my life that I am provided for by my father. He has been whispering His deep truths into my heart this month. I have been filled with the Joy of His Spirit as I spend time in His word.

This was the start of a new beginning for me. You see, for the past few months I was struggling to stay in the word, It was a constant battle for me to sit and make it a priority. In my heart I know that I must spend time with my Father, it is in Him that I live, move, and have my being. Acts 17:28. And yet it was a constant struggle for me. I realized early this month that I wanted to have my dependence fully on God and not the things of this world. In proverbs 18:10 I was reminded that, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” It is when I spend time in His presence daily that I experience the safety and strength of my Lord. Oh how I love the outcome when I choose to run to Him often. I pray that the Lord would use these words in your life today. He is your strong tower and your hiding place. May we all find shelter in the shadow of His wings as we dwell together in His presence.

Thank you for being in my life and taking part in all that God is doing everyday to make His name known to the nations!
With Great Love,

Shauna Salerno

Who is like our Lord?

“Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God, you have done
great things. Who, O God is like you?”
~Psalms 71:19~

Who is like our God? There is no one like Him! I find myself going back to that question at times in my life when I need to remember that He alone is faithful, loving, and trustworthy. I can love others because He first loved me and showed me what love is. There is no other one worthy of all our praise!!!! I know this truth deep inside my heart, and yet I fail to remember it at times. In those times the Lord is faithful to strip me of the comfort or security that I strive to find in anything other than Him. Our Lord is great and my heart is fully known by Him alone. How indescribable is His love for all of us!!!

This last week we had our Global Vision Banquet. It was a wonderful event where the Lord moved in great ways through our speakers. One leader who flew in from Haiti spoke about all that God has been doing in Haiti and now there is a need for more churches to be planted because so many people are coming to the Lord! It was a blessing to hear his heart for his country and how thankful he was to be working with DCPI to fulfill the great commission! God gets all the praise for that incredible night!

This month I am also praising God because my family is growing closer to the Lord. This brings great Joy to my heart for I desire the Lord’s best for those I love.
Another praise I have is that I am up and ready presenting again after the mishaps I had with my computer being stolen. I had a support appointment just last week, and it felt great to be sharing all that God is doing at DCPI and around the world!

It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to let others share in the Joy of all that God is doing. I am happy to be a part of his purpose together with the body of Christ’s followers. Thank you for your prayers and support! They are making a difference in my life and in God’s kingdom!

*Please pray for our nation so many are in need of Christ.
*Please pray that I get the last 40% of my support raised
*Please pray that I continue to set up appointments so that I don't lose my focus, joy, and momentum.

Salvation Belongs to God!!!

“Salvation Belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
~Revelation 7:10~

During this past month I have gone back to that one day over and over again. It was on my first missions trip in 2002 long before I came to DCPI. I still can recall the moment so clearly. I was on the plane ride home after teaching English Camps and presenting the Gospel to high school students in the Czech Republic. I was recalling all of the lives that were changed for the Gospel, and I myself was coming back to San Diego changed in a way that words could not express. I had seen the hand of God move in Czech, and I was humbled to have experienced just how big God was.

I recalled a verse, that we focused on at camp as leaders before the students came. It was Revelation 7:10. We shared about how we are used by God, but Salvation belongs to God. I remember thinking to myself that I was so glad that no one else's salvation was dependent on me alone. I could do my best, but it wasn’t by my efforts that others can/will be saved. It is by His blood that was shed that each of us draw near to God and are saved (Ephesians 2:13).

In the beginning of this month, I was encouraged at the Global Vision Summit to hear stories of changed lives from DCPI international leaders who traveled from far away to be with us in California. We celebrated 2010 and all that our Lord had accomplished, and we planned and spent time in prayer for this year.

While hearing these stories from our leaders in Australia, Egypt, Africa, and Latin America (to name a few) I was blown away once again by how big our God is! I remembered how we can get so caught up in our daily life and forget that there is a nation of hurting people who do not have a church in their area to hear the gospel and receive salvation as so many of us have been given that opportunity.

I am so humbled to be in a place where I can share this great news and make a difference for His kingdom. Thank you for being on my team and helping to save lives for the Gospel!

Please pray for the nation of Egypt in this time of crisis.

Please pray that I get the last 40% of my support raised

Please pray that I can spend more quality time with the Lord so that I may be a blessing to others.
