“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”
~Hebrews 12:28-29~

Greetings Friends and Family,
I am so excited to be writing this up-date! It is going to be a little different than past updates. I wanted to take the time to recognize all that the Lord has done in my life this past year! In the year 2010 He has given me much to be thankful for! I remember starting this year out on the 1st of January, with a beautiful hike in Julian, thinking to myself how great God was to let me start the year in his vast creation with great friends from church.

Then in April, I was able to attend DCPI training and become a certified trainer. During the week of the 12-16th, we started our training in prayer and worship each morning and jumped into the word. It was beautiful to be in fellowship with other believers who had a heart to learn how to make a difference in people’s lives through church planting! One of the Biblical Principles that challenged me was the “Holy Spirit Principle”, which states “The Holy Spirit guides and empowers church planting movements”. We read in the book of Acts chapters 1-2, where the Holy Spirit fell on the church and how it multiplied.

Then in July, I was blessed to go on a trip to Colombia for 10 days to evangelize to 60,000 students in Barranquilla. It was a humbling moment in my journey with Christ. I had the opportunity to share on the radio about what we did there! I was thankful to witness the power of the Holy Spirit in my life and others in a deep way. I was taken with just how deep the Love of Christ for me and this world is. Thank you Jesus for your great love, it just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Your love is in-comprehensible!

After my trip to Colombia, I was thankful to bring my three year old niece up North to visit my family in Chico. It was a nice 9 hour drive there and back. We had a great time for the two weeks I spent with my family. It was a great time of relaxing at the river and creek, playing cards, and enjoying company! Then at the end of October I was thankful to put in my 30 day notice at SeaSpine to step out in faith full time at DCPI. I was grateful with how many people at SeaSpine mentioned that they were going to miss my presence at the office, and how I was used to impact their faith. When I was just 8 days from my last day on the 22nd of September, the Lord also rescued me and a co-worker from death. We got hit by another driver, and my car was totaled, but we came out of it alive! Praise the Lord for all he is doing!

I am so thankful for all of you! My prayer is that you have a blessed thanksgiving as you remember all that our Lord has done for you personally. He is just so great! I am filled with joy that we share in the gospel, and in this journey together to change lives for eternity! May you feel His deep love for you this Thanksgiving!
With the deep love of Christ,
Shauna Salerno

The God of second chances!

Last night i went to a new church and the pastor talked about how Peter had denied Christ three times, and how God reinstated Peter three times and said further "Go feed my sheep" in Matthew chapter 26. The pastor asked if any of us had ever failed God. I know i have failed him in my life. Then he went on further to say that the Lord's message to us is that He knows our heart, and further that He tells us to go and get back to work for Him (To go take care of His sheep).

In the past when i have failed God, i remember thinking that i was of no use to Him anymore. This is a lie of the enemy! The Lord can use anyone who is willing and understands that we are strong and clean by Him alone. The Lord does not call us to live in our shame. I for one will not live with regrets, i know that the Lord deserves all the Gory, and i must live the best i can today without letting the past trip me up. Thanks be to God that He does not define us by our faults. He gives us a clean slate to move forward and does not want us staying in the past. He who is without sin, became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21), so that we could stand before our father in heaven! He knows us completely, and wants us to remain close to Him, filled with the Spirit!

Dear Lord, help us to look to you as our only hope. You alone can save us and the world from sin. We have all fallen short of your glory, we are all in need of your forgiveness. Thanks for forgiving us, when we have denied you in our past. Thank you for saying to us further, "to get back to work and feed your sheep". It is a blessing that you use us Father though we are unworthy. I am humbled by your mercy and grace. You gave up your life, so that i could have freedom from sin. I love you Jesus, I Love you Jesus, You know all things Father and you know I love you! Thank you for your truth! Most of all Holy Father, thank you for loving me unto death, so that i could understand what love really is! Amen!
